This is a story of Dickens that I had never heard of...as all of his writings, it was deeply satisfying....loved it!
This book got off to a slow start but picked up in the middle and ended quite well. It is easy to see why it is not one of the author's better known books.
This isn't the best of Dickens, but it is a entertaining short detective story by a great story teller.
I love Dickens
Even tho a short story- it is superb! Dickens was a literary genius and in a class all by himself. I have been reading him since I was eight years old, and never once was I ever disappointed.
I am definitely a Charles Dickenson fan and have read all of his novels over the years. This shorter work, a novella, was a pleasant find. It's definitely Dickens' style more like The Mystery of Edwin Drood than David Copperfield. Very enjoyable read.
I was intrigued by 'Hunted Down' one of Charles Dickens' lesser known works. It is not difficult to predict the twists in the plot, but the master of descriptive prose is hard at work in this slender novel. I suggest that Dickens fans give it a try.
